Track Review: I Saw You (In A Corridor) / Wolf Alice

Following the release of Giant Peach last month, I Saw You (In A Corridor) is the latest track from up and coming four piece indie rock band Wolf Alice. The track has been released with the intention of being the B-side of Giant Peach prior to the release of their debut album My Love Is Cool in June.

As the track begins, you immediately hear muffled samples of the band speaking which are layered over the steady lamenting guitar chords before exposing the listener to simply the sentimental vocals and acoustic guitar. These vocals show a much softer tone to Rowsell’s voice and give the track a feeling of warmth and compassion which echoes throughout in both the lyrics, musicality and production. This provides a strong contrast with powerful drum rhythms and mammoth melodies of Giant Peach showing the band’s diversity to adapt their sound to a multitude of genres – something which many artists aim for.

I Saw You (In A Corridor) will be available as a special edition vinyl along with Giant Peach on April 13th. However there will only be 500 copies available meaning that Wolf Alice fans will most likely be setting early alarms to have ownership of the track! Equally, the track is available as a free download if you sign up to the bands mailing list and I think that the addition of an occasional email in your inbox is certainly worth it.
