Song of The Week: The Way You’d Love Her / Mac Demarco

Several weeks ago it was announced that the Canadian Viceroy smoking Mac Demarco will be releasing a new mini album titled Another One later on in the summer and yesterday we were given our first preview of the sounds it will offer through the typically breezy guitars and laid back vocals of The Way You’d Love Her.

Much like many other Demarco tracks, there’s a laid back vibe as harmonious guitar riffs resonate through your speakers before the introduction of Mac’s vocals which add a depth of calm warmth to the track. It’s certainly one of those tracks you’ll be listening to this summer whilst lying on the beach or relaxing outside with it’s chiming melodies and hazy beats. Towards the end there’s a bluesy guitar solo that, even though it sticks to the chilled out feeling of the song, has a totally groovy feeling to it.

The track moves in true Mac style and, after a surprise performance alongside The Strokes, he’s added numerous new tour dates to his calendar where we can definitely be expecting to hear his great tracks from albums Salad Days and but also The Way You’d Love Her and other’s from the new mini album.
