Track Review: Kamikaze / MØ

It’s fair to say that Danish songstress MØ has been dominating the airwaves this summer with her hit Major Lazer collaboration Lean On. Although, as the song reaches it last few moments of nightclub glory, she’s back as quickly as she came and screaming the voice of today’s youth with a more than lively new track Kamikaze.

Carrying on her tight-knit relationship with American producer Diplo, it’s no surprise MØ’s managed to produce a track that’s full of the energy and individuality needed to send it straight to number one.The sounds of an Irish barn dance fiddle may seem a bit peculiar when pouring out your radio but, ever since the release of her debut album No Mythologies To Follow, MØ has made it clear that she likes to be experimental. Rapturous choruses of ‘Take me to the party / Kami Kami Kaze’ demand you to get up onto your feet before the chants of ‘We go one, two, three ’till the end of the world’ unleash the true ecstasy lying within the track. It’s edgy, current, cool and we love it.

Debuted as Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’, Kamikaze will be released worldwide from midnight and is certain to act as the perfect substitute for Lean On as the soundtrack to your winter house parties.
